Sean Hoare, who was discovered at his flat on Langley Road in Watford, had claimed his ex-editor, Andy Coulson, was "well aware" of illegal practices at the tabloid.
They're allegations Mr. Coulson denies.
Sean's brother Stuart says he's disgusted with what happened behind the scenes at the paper.
He told the Leveson Inquiry into press standards that the stress Sean was under was common for all journalists at the paper.
"It upsets me the amount of pressure that these journalists at the News Of The World were put on to deliver stories. And to see the demise of my brother through this was shocking."
Just last month, and inquest in Hatfield found Mr Hoare had suffered from alcoholic
liver disease and died from natural causes.
He was said to have been under stress because of the phone
hacking claims at the time of his death and used drink "as a crutch."
