Sexual Offences Team Investigate Assault In Stevenage

Tuesday, October 2nd 2012 10:47

Officers from the Hertfordshire Police Sexual Offences team are investigating after the assault of a woman in Stevenage...

The victim was walking alone near Homestead Moat in the early hours of Saturday morning, when she was approached by a man.

Detective Inspector Damien Kennedy, investigating from the Sexual Offences Investigation Team, said: "We take incidents of this kind very seriously and are doing all we can to trace the man responsible.

I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw a female wearing black and white clothing.

It may be that you live locally and were returning home from a night out, or from work and saw the victim before during or after the incident. Did you see any male loitering in the area?

Did you see someone matching the victim's description? Your information could be vital in helping us bring this offender to justice."

Anyone with information should ring DI Kennedy via the non-emergency number 101, citing Operation Pallu. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers (an independent charity) anonymously on 0800 555111.
