Thursday, July 12th 2012 08:14

Two men have been charged with theft after a sculpture worth up to £500,000 was stolen from Much Hadham...

'Sundial' had been taken from the grounds of the Henry Moore Foundation on July the 10th.

22 year-old Liam Hughes and 19 year-old Jason Park - both from Coltsfield in Stanstead - have been charged with two counts of theft.

Both have been released on bail and will appear before Stevenage Magistrates on August 3rd.

A third man has been released without charge.

Lesley Wake, Chief Operating Officer from the Henry Moore Foundation, said: "The Henry Moore Foundation is thrilled about the return of Working Model for Sundial; we are hugely grateful to BBC Crimewatch, the public and in particular, the excellent work by Herts Police, in achieving its recovery.

We hope that the successful outcome of this investigation will help to stimulate interest in Moore’s Reclining Figure which was taken from the Foundation in 2005. The reward of up to £100,000 is still available for information relating to the recovery of this sculpture. The reward is subject to special conditions. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with any information."
